The Reconstructive Surgery Residency Program at Central Asian University, in collaboration with AKFA Medline University Hospital, provides comprehensive training in advanced surgical techniques for restoring function and aesthetics. The program equips residents with expertise in microsurgery, craniofacial reconstruction, and complex wound management.

The Reconstructive Surgery Residency Program is a 4-year program designed to provide in-depth training across multiple reconstructive subspecialties.
Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY-1) – Foundations of Reconstructive Surgery
Core rotations in general surgery, trauma surgery, and wound care
Introduction to plastic and reconstructive surgical principles
Hands-on training in basic suturing, grafting, and wound closure techniques
Postgraduate Year 2 (PGY-2) – Advanced Clinical Training
Rotations in microsurgery, tissue transfer, and burn reconstruction
Training in flap techniques, nerve repair, and hand reconstruction
Participation in clinical research and case studies
Postgraduate Year 3 (PGY-3) – Subspecialty Exposure
Specialization in craniofacial reconstruction, breast reconstruction, and limb salvage surgery
Performing complex reconstructive procedures under expert supervision
Teaching and mentoring junior residents
Postgraduate Year 4 (PGY-4) – Chief Residency Year
